From utility to the highest end bikes, Panaracer has constantly taken on new challenges to create “World-First” products that employ

History

1952

National Tire Co.,Ltd. is established as cycle tire factory in Osaka, Japan.

1963

Began production of the first bicycle tire with a nylon single cord.

1965

Tamba National Tire Co., Ltd erects factory in Tamba City, Hyogo, Japan.

1969

National Tire Co., Ltd begins exporting to the USA.

1970

Develops a premium skin wall tire for road bikes.

1971

Develops world’s first radial tire for bicycles.

1976

Develops the world’s first nylon cord tubular tire for road racing.

1979

Establishes the tire brand “Panaracer”.

1980

Japanese rider wins a world championship using a Panaracer tubular tires.

1986

Develops the world’s first bicycle tube made of polyurethane.

1990

Panaracer defines the MTB tire category with the Smoke and wins a world championship.

1994

Develops a new compound technology called Binary Function Compound.

1995

Riders around the world win championships using Panaracer MTB tires.

1999

National Tire Co., Ltd and Tamba National Tire Co., Ltd., merge.
Pushing compound technology, Panaracer develops ZSG (Zero Slip Grip) technology.
Using the Panaracer Stradius tire, Panaracer takes a stage win at the Vuelta a España.
Launches “Stradias” road tires containing silica.

2000

Continuing the innovation of the MTB tire, Panaracer wins Best New Tire from Mountain Bike Magazine,
and a top 10 product in Mountain Bike Action Magazine.

2001

The Panaracer Stradius Pro wins two stages at the Giro d’Italia. A first for a Japanese made bicycle tire.
U.S team wins the NORBA National Championship using the Fire XC Pro tires.
Japanese riders take the All Japan MTB Championships and Asian MTB Championship using the Panaracer Mach SS/SK tires.

2002

Panaracer wins a stage of The Giro d’Italia on the Stradius Extreme tires.

2003

Panaracer wins another stage of The Giro d’Italia on the Stradius Pro tires.

2004

Launched a new, lightweight racing tube; R’Air, created from a special compound called AirFlex Butyl.
A Panaracer rider takes 2nd place in the individual all-around category at The Giro d’Italia.

2005

Relocated head office to Tamba City, Hyogo, Japan.
Participate in The Tour de France for the first time as a Japanese tire company.

2008

Change company name to “Panasonic PolyTechnology Co.,Ltd.”

2014

Launched the “GRAVELKING” tire.

2015

Changed company name to “Panaracer Corporation”.

2017

Mat Stephens of Panaracer Gravel Team wins Dirty Kanza 200 using the GRAVELKING SK tires.

2021

Renewal of the company logo.
“Panaracer sponsored Nariyuki Masuda wins the individual all-around in the Tour Of Japan
and the Individual Time Trial in the All Japan Championships for the second time.

2022

Panaracer celebrates its 70th Anniversary.
Launches new road tire series, AGILEST.
