Have you ever heard an event called the ATLAS MOUNTAIN RACE?
This is a grueling, unsupported ultra-race held in the unpaved Atlas Mountains, which stretch for more than 2,000 kilometers in the south of Morocco, a country where African, Arabian and European cultures are intertwined across the Strait of Gibraltar to Spain.
Panaracer provided the GravelKing SK Plus, a highly puncture-resistant, adventure-ready tire for Mattia, Andrea and Federico, a trio whose team name is “Ras El Hanout”, which comes from a mixed spice used in Moroccan cuisine.

The sizes they chose were 700x43C and 650Bx48
We combined them with a specially painted 3T all-road bike, the “EXPLORO”, and set out to ride.
By their savvy travel and packing skills will be a useful reference for many ultra-race’s and who may be concerned in bike traveling.
Despite a shocking crash, Mattia managed to complete the 950km and crossed the finish line at 9pm, five days and 12 hours after starting.
Meanwhile, Andrea and Federico arrived safely in Sidi R’bat in Morocco
two hours later and, unexpectedly, were able to secure victory in the pair category.
After the race, we received some comments from them.
